Montalivet has an open air market occurring each day during the summer months. This market with its colourful mix of over 200 stalls and stands is famous for its produce and atmosphere.
The mix of stands spread across the village square will take you across the world. On a good morning you could check out the hamocks of Mexico before crossing over to the rugs of Morocco while admiring the cottons of India. I am sure of one thing; you will always find your way back to the oysters and fine wines of the Medoc, sold from the numerous "bouvets" spread throughout the market.
Don't panic; the market is not just oysters and white wine. You will also find tucked away in the alleys saussages from Lyon, fish fresh from the Atlantic Ocean and cakes and pies from the Basque region of France. The selection does not stop here, I'll let you do a bit of hunting..
